I think I'm getting all Twixt'ed out. I've probably played more games of Twixt in the past week or so than I ever did before rediscovering the game.
My meandering path to this site began when I took my son to a gaming store thinking they had trading card game supplies (Pokemon), but finding that they were a D&D kind of store that also had a bunch of classic strategy games. It brought back memories, and I remembered the game of Twixt that my best friend had back when I was about 13. We only played it a few times, but he got bored and I forgot all about it.
My son is 13 now, and I was trying to describe the game to him. I wound up looking online to see if I could still buy it, and found it was out of print but could be bought on eBay. I looked the game history up on Wikipedia, which had a link to this site. Voila! No need to buy the game. I can play online and show my son.
I've enjoyed playing against Mark and riviolet, but I sure wish there was a more vibrant community. I like to chat (can't you tell?) and "talk" across the board. If I drift away, I'll keep the site bookmarked and come back when I have the urge again. I gotta say thanks to Mark for creating the site. It's been fun.
